Many thanks to our Reception and Year1 parents for your continued support in recent days. I know many of you are accessing the online learning that the teaching staff are creating for the children to be working on whilst at home for the next 14 days. I met virtually with the staff yesterday and I can tell you they are preparing some lovely activities and videos to help you whilst the children are at home.
Each day the teachers are preparing activities, work and videos for a range of subjects for your children to work on at home. The teachers are able to see this completed work in many instances. As a school, we have been working hard to ensure we have a robust remote learning programme for such times. Thank you Reception and Year 1 for engaging so well in this.
Please access our Home Learning Tab on the home page of our website for further information.
Sadly but perhaps inevitably just like a growing number of school across the Northeast we have had a case of COVID-19 amongst a member of staff. I can assure you that we sought advice from the North East Health Protection Team and as a result, close contacts have been identified and asked to isolate for 14 days. No further action for all other adults and children in school over and above our social distancing measures were advised at this point.
On behalf of myself and all staff I would like to thank parents and carers for your support and understanding during these uncertain times.
If you have any queries or concerns please contact the school office.
Welcome from Mrs Worrall - Headteacher
I would like to extend a very warm welcome to New Delaval Primary School. We are set in a tranquil spot on the edge of Blyth overlooking the golf course and have been serving the community here for over 100 years.
Children can join us from the age of 2 years old until 11 years old when they transfer into the secondary sector. The school is set in extensive and attractive grounds, giving children plenty of space to learn and play. In fact, each year group has its own dedicated outdoor learning area.
Our commitment at New Delaval is to ensure that your child:
- feels safe whilst at school
- enjoys learning
- makes excellent progress and learns as well as she/he can
We welcome our parents to complete Ofsted's 'Parent View', to tell us how they think we're doing.
I hope you enjoy our website. If you would like to find out more about us, I would be delighted to meet you. Please call and arrange a visit.
Summer Activities for the Whole Family
A message from Active Northumberland
The Summer Activity Diary encourages 60 active minutes a day through different activities and offers suggestions and signposting each week. There is also a mindfulness activity each week, encouraging both physical and mental wellbeing.
The 42 days of Summer gives activities for the whole family to get involved with at home or out and about. Challenge children and families to complete all the activities, it doesn't need to be one a day.
