Our 2-Year-Old Provision

At New Delaval Primary School, we are delighted to offer a dedicated and nurturing environment for our youngest learners. Our 2-Year-Old Provision provides a safe, stimulating, and caring space where children can begin their learning journey through play, exploration, and discovery.

Our experienced Early Years staff focus on developing children’s confidence, communication, and independence, ensuring each child feels happy and secure as they learn new skills every day.

Session times:


Morning session: 8:30 am – 11:30 am

We offer flexible support for families, and our team is happy to discuss your child’s individual needs or eligibility for funded places.

Our Nursery Provision

Our Nursery is a warm, engaging, and caring environment where children learn through play, exploration, and imagination. We provide high-quality early education that helps every child develop confidence, independence, and a love of learning.

Children can attend using their universal 15 funded hours, which can be taken as either a morning or afternoon session.

Session times:


Morning session: 8:30 am – 11:30 am

OR 

Afternoon session: 12:15 pm – 3:15 pm

Our experienced Early Years team ensures that every session is full of purposeful play, creative activities, and opportunities to explore the world around them.

We work closely with parents and carers to make sure each child’s start to school life is happy and positive.

Please let our admin team know your session preference, sessions will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.

30-Hour Nursery Entitlement

At New Delaval Primary School we are pleased to offer the 30-hour childcare entitlement for eligible families. This extended offer allows children to spend more time in our Nursery, enjoying a rich, balanced curriculum and a wide range of play-based learning experiences.

All children are entitled to 15 universal funded hours, which must be taken during the morning sessions. Families who qualify for the extended 30-hour offer can access an additional 15 funded hours in the afternoon.

Session times: 

Morning session (universal 15 hours): 8:30 am – 11:30 am


Afternoon session (additional 15 hours): 12:15 pm – 3:15 pm

Additional afternoon hours can be taken in blocks of 3 hours, depending on availability and your family’s needs. This means you can choose which afternoons you would like your child to attend. 

Children will stay onsite for lunch, parents will need to provide a packed lunch.

Our flexible approach means your child can enjoy a full and stimulating day at Nursery, supported by our experienced Early Years team in a safe, caring, and engaging environment.

We recommend taking up your full 30 hour entitlement with us as this provides children with valuable continuity, routine and learning opportunities across the whole week.

Reception Admissions

 

Applications for a place in our Reception class are managed by Northumberland County Council.

If your child is due to start school in September, you will need to apply for a place through the Northumberland County Council School Admissions process.

We are always happy to welcome prospective parents and children to visit our school, meet our staff, and see our Reception classroom in action. Please contact the school office on 01670 353255 to arrange a visit or ask any questions about the admissions process.

Admissions – Years 1 to 6

 

Admissions for Years 1 to 6 are managed by Northumberland County Council. 

 

If you would like your child to join our school, please contact the school office to request an admissions form. Once completed, this form can be returned to the school by hand or email.

 

Our staff will be happy to guide you through the process and answer any questions you may have about available places or the next steps.

 

We warmly welcome families to visit our school before applying. This is a great opportunity to meet our staff, see our classrooms, and get a feel for our caring and inclusive learning environment.
